It’s been a while since we checked in! Reason being, we experienced one of the busiest third quarters in Casting Ireland’s history. We’re so delighted with the level of growth, new opportunities, and fresh-faced Talent we’ve onboarded.
As 2026 kicks off, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on the many victories of 2025. The year was chock full of exciting projects and collaborations. We had the opportunity to work alongside incredibly talented actors, dedicated producers, and visionary creative teams.
Each project, whether a film, television production, music video, event, campaign, brand activation, or traditional commercial reinforced casting’s impact on storytelling. I joined the team in April 2025, and from day one, it felt like the right fit. With a passion for placing talent in roles where they can truly shine, it was inspiring to work alongside a team that shares the same values.
April was a busy introduction, with new clients and fast-moving projects that required precision, adaptability, and close attention to detail. Early highlights included a televised crime documentary and a transport hub campaign.
In June, I attended the Casting Masterclass at the Galway Film Fleadh led by three of Ireland’s most influential casting directors: Maureen Hughes, Louise Kiely, and Luci Lennox. The event was engaging, inspiring, and refreshingly interactive. I was delighted to meet and connect with many of the Talent we work with regularly. That month, we continued casting across a range of campaigns, including online pieces for insurance, safety, and food and beverage brands.
The following month, we visited the set of an upcoming feature horror film. We placed an extremely talented young actress in a pivotal role. This marked her first large scale feature film role, and she did a wonderful job! We also participated in the Casting for Diversity Excellence workshop hosted by Screen Ireland in partnership with Adaku Oliver-Nnona of Phoenix Rize Consulting. The two-day online workshop consisted of insightful sessions exploring industry bias and practical ways to support underrepresented performers.
September brought some particularly unique projects, including a promotional shoot for a popular Netflix series. Alongside this, we placed talent across live events, further expanding our reach within immersive performance spaces.
October celebrated creativity in all its forms. Our actors took part in live, immersive events requiring improvisation and in-character interaction with guests. We also worked across a healthcare campaign, a car campaign, and a murder mystery short film, making it one of the most diverse months of the year for project briefs.
In November, our agents successfully completed National Talent Academy’s Introduction to Extras Coordinating course, an intensive masterclass led by accomplished Extras Coordinator and 2nd AD, David Kennedy. That month also saw us casting major campaigns alongside a broadcaster, electronics company, and a local government body.
In December, we had the pleasure of attending the Women in Film & Television Film Festival. Supporting and uplifting women in creative industry remains deeply important to us, and events like this continue to foster connection, inspiration, and progress. The films showcased were powerful, bold, and deeply resonant. We ended the year strong, getting into the Christmas spirit by casting an array of festive shoots and events.
To close out the year on an especially exciting note, we were approached and appointed as Casting Directors for an upcoming indie feature, set to release in theatres in 2026. Principal photography is scheduled to kick off in late April – we can’t wait to share more with you when the time comes!
While many new clients and talent came on board this year, we remain enormously grateful for those of you with whom we’ve worked for several years. We value our ongoing partnership tremendously and would like to extend a huge THANK YOU for continuing to choose us and put your faith in us. 2025 was a year of learning, collaboration, and growth. We’re so excited to carry that momentum forward into the year ahead!
